Ulrika Fredrika Pasch, född 10 juli 1735 i Stockholm, död 2 april 1796, var en svensk konstnär. Hon var dotter till konstnären Lorens Pasch d.ä. och Anna Helena Beckamn, syster till konstnären Lorens Pasch d.y. och brorsdotter till konstnären Johan Pasch. Ulrika Pasch började måla 1756 men hade tidigt tillsammans med sin bror fått undervisning av fadern. Hon blev hushållerska åt en släkting, men målade på fritiden. Under en tioårsperiod försörjde hon sin pappa och syster som professionell porträttmålare i Stockholm innan hennes bror återvände från sina studier utomlands 1766, då de började arbeta tillsammans. Deras samarbete beskrivs som harmoniskt och de valdes båda in i konstakademien 1773. Hon var inte den första kvinnan som valdes in i akademin, men hon var den första kvinnliga yrkeskonstnären som blev vald. Hon ska ha målat detaljerna på broderns tavlor, som klädesdetaljer och liknande. Ulrika hade en framgångsrik karriär och målade ofta porträtt av kungafamiljen och hovet. Hon ansökte dock upprepade gånger förgäves för en pension. Systern Helena Lovisa (1744-96) hushållade åt sina syskon. Karoly Ferenczy
1863-1917 Karoly Ferenczy Locations was a Hungarian Impressionist painter. He was one of the leading artists of the Nagybanya school of painting. He studied law and economics. He began to deal with painting at the Academie Julian in Paris. In 1889, he moved back to Hungary, to the town of Szentendre. Between 1893 and 1896 he lived in Munich with his family: There he joined the circle of Simon Hollosy: with whom he moved to Nagybanya in 1896 and became the leading painter of the artist colony. After 1906 he moved to Budapest and became the professor of the College of Fine Arts. His wife Olga Fialka and their children, the painter Valer Ferenczy (1885-1954), the tapestry weaver Noemi Ferenczy (1890-1957) and the sculptor Beni Ferenczy (1890- 1967) were famous representatives of Hungarian art.
John Macallan Swan
British Academic Painter, 1847-1910 was an English painter and sculptor. John Macallan Swan was born in Brentford, Middlesex in 1847. He received his art training first in England at the Worcester and Lambeth schools of art and the Royal Academy schools, and subsequently in Paris, in the studios of Jean-L??on G??rôme and Emmanuel Fr??miet. He began to exhibit at the Academy in 1878, and was elected associate in 1894 and academician in 1905. He was appointed a member of the Dutch Water-Colour Society in 1885; and associate of the Royal Society of Painters in Water Colours in 1896 and full member in 1899. A master of the oil, water-colour and pastel mediums, an accomplished painter and a skilful draughtsman, he ranks also as a sculptor of distinguished ability. He has treated the human figure with notable power, but it is by his representations of the larger wild animals, mainly the felidae, that he chiefly established his reputation; in this branch of practice he has scarcely a rival. His picture "The Prodigal Son," bought for the Chantrey collection in 1889, is in the National Gallery of British Art.
